Welcome TUGs members and all uke enthusiasts!

Welcome to the official web site of the Tuggeranong Ukulele Group (Inc)

(TUGs for short).

TUGs is a family friendly club that meets to play, sing, socialise and have fun at our uke sessions, group events and performances throughout the Canberra region. Uniquely, we play in a Stage Band setting, with our ukuleles being complemented with Bass Guitar, mixed Percussion and Harmonica.

We play many genres of music, with an emphasis on 50’s and 60’s Rock and Roll. We hope all TUGs members will contribute to the enjoyment of all, and will be able to join in our activities as their time permits.

TUGs members in all their glory

Becoming a member of TUGs is easy. Interested persons should attend one of our regular sessions.  Newsflash – As of Sunday 3rd July TUGS sessions will be held at the new venue of the Rainbow Room at the Canberra Southern Cross Club, Corinna Street, Woden. See our ‘Events’ page for details of our 2016 session dates.

Then, all you need to do is see our friendly Doorperson to join TUGS and to then start receiving our regular Ukulelemails in which all club news including upcoming performance gigs and playlists, songs for rehearsals, and social events etc. are advised.

We extend an invitation to  all visiting ukesters to visit us if you are in Canberra. You can be assured of a warm welcome and we’ll loan you our music so you can fully join in our sessions.

Happy Ukeing!

Our next afternoon is Sunday 4 September.

We begin our new Absolute Beginners Sessions that Sunday from 12.30pm running for 20 minutes.  This is to cater for new members and anyone wishing to “get back to basics”.  We will have an Open Mike session from 1.00pm, then our First Session – Group Strum-A-Long 1.30pm to 2.15pm;  Afternoon Tea 2.15pm to 2.45pm and our Second Session – Performance Practice 2.45pm to 3.25pm. 1. Just thought that I’d like to say something about TUGs’ inclusive atmosphere and how much I appreciate the way in which I have been welcomed into the club. It is a breath of fresh air and I highly recommend other players that I know from elsewhere to take part in TUGs’ meetings.
    Thank you for the inclusion.
